We recently had a client that emailed over this response: My family has a dilemma we are trying to resolve and maybe someone here can help. What Condition Do My Old Books Need to Be In?

The better the condition, the better the value. Books with unfaded covers, clean pages, strong spines, and dust jackets in good condition are more valuable than books with ripped or dog-eared pages, faded covers or print, stains, broken spines, or damaged or missing dust jackets.

That being said, your books don’t have to be in perfect condition to sell. Just be aware that the condition will impact the price you’re able to get for the books.
